I’m Rochelle Swift, a Melbourne family, newborn and maternity photographer based in Doreen VIC. I photograph mothers and families across Melbourne and Victoria, creating calm, connection-focused sessions that feel natural rather than posed. Many families first meet me during maternity photography, then return again for newborn sessions and family photography as their children grow.
I documented my children with every important person in their lives. My Husband, the Grandparents. Aunts and Uncles, even Friends. Everyone except me.
I was always there. But if you looked through our family photos, my boys would never know it. That quiet absence is something many mothers carry — especially in seasons where your body feels different, your needs come last, and being “in the picture” feels harder than staying behind the camera.
That’s why I am so passionate about photographing motherhood.
I photograph mothers gently, without pressure to perform or be anything other than they are. I guide you calmly, respectfully, and with deep care — because I know how vulnerable this season can feel.
So when your children look back one day, they don’t just remember being loved. They can see it. They can see you.
I became a mother before I became invisible. As a mum of three incredible boys, my body changed. My priorities shifted. My focus moved outward, to them, completely and instinctively.
